REFUNDS AND TRANSFERS
Refunds are no longer available for Ultra Series Backyard and Frontyard events. Transfers are permitted but are subject to terms set out in the Race Manual.
We will have a dedicated Wild Dog Backyard Ultra Buy/Swap/Sell Page on Facebook. Inevitably, some entrants will not be able to participate, for a variety of reasons, and the opportunity to buy/swap/sell entries will be made live for runners to arrange between themselves on our registration platform.
QUALIFICATION
Wild Dog Backyard Ultra doesn’t have any qualification requirements, however please do not take the fatigue and conditions for granted. It is expected that you are in good health and that you have trained appropriately for this event.
AID STATIONS
There will be a full service, manned aid station at the transition area, near the start line for every lap.
Please BYO Cup or Hydration Vessel if you wish to utilise drinks from the aid station.
Runners are also able to set up their own table with their own supplies in the designated areas.

The aid station will provide the following:
WATER
VFUEL HYDRATION
COKE
LOLLIES
SAVOURY SNACKS
SOUPS (OR SIMILAR) in the evenings
PACERS
Pacers are NOT PERMITTED at any stage of Wild Dog Backyard Ultra. This is a solo event – every runner must complete each lap entirely under their own steam.

If you’d like to run alongside someone, they’ll need to officially enter the event as a competitor. Once a runner has DNF’d, they are no longer permitted to continue on course with you. At that point, their role can only be as crew or supporter, not as a fellow runner.
This ensures the event remains fair, consistent with official Backyard Ultra rules, and a true test of individual endurance.
DROPPING OUT
& CUT OFFS
Runners may only withdraw from Wild Dog at the start marquee. It is essential that any withdrawing runner notifies the Race Director or an appointed marshal IN PERSON, to ensure their withdrawal is recorded and to avoid unnecessary concern or the need for a search party.

To remain in the event, every runner must be present in the starting corral at the start of each hour, ready to begin the next lap. Failure to be inside the corral when the hour starts will result in elimination, regardless of whether you are only seconds away.
This rule is absolute – you must be in position, on time, every time, to continue the next lap
MANDATORY GEAR
Runners will not be required to carry any mandatory equipment as there is an aid station every 6.71km.
However, HEADLAMPS WILL BE REQUIRED AT NIGHT.

If weather conditions bring extremes of sun, glare or cold, runners are advised to have the following items ready for use:
HAT
SUNSCREEN
SUNGLASSES
POCKET WARMERS
RUNNING GLOVES OR SIMILAR
THERMALS
WATERPROOF PANTS
BEANIE AND/OR BUFF
